The Great Christmas Extravaganza

This is just a very quick post to give you a little glimpse of the wonderful time we had on Saturday.  It was so lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves so much.

First of all a very big thank you to Denise who despite being awol in Germany had designed a beautiful make and take for us to do.

Secondly a huge thank you to Jane who made the lunch which included homemade smoked mackerel pate, home made chicken liver pate and gorgeous home made coleslaw amongst other delicacies

We started the day with the Make and Take and then Ann taught a two page class.

Then it was time for the aforementioned delicious lunch.

After lunch we tackled my project which was a piece of Christmas home decor.

We then spent a little more time completing our projects and eating cupcakes

before Karen Cole arrived to teach her card class!

So there we have it - a very busy and productive day was enjoyed by everyone.

Kit Swap Time

We did something different this month at the crop- instead of a class Karen suggested we all made up a  kit and did a swap...here's Karen getting the kits ready for the swap..  It  was a great idea for a change. Some of our friends who couldn't make it were greatly missed..

I didn't take lots of photos this month - but did manage a few.
We did our own projects all day - and I had a lovely time just fiddling about with stamps and papers and generally crafting away and enjoying the lovely company.

We had apple crumble and mango and lime cupcakes ...
I was sitting next to Karen - love this expression on her face - think I might have been singing the same song all day !!
Next month sees the return of a festive crop with some great classes,a make and take and some
lovely food - should be fun!

Cupcakes, Cropping and Good Company

We had a fabulous time at the crop yesterday (those who were off doing other things were greatly missed).  As one of the ladies AWOL was Denise I am doing the post crop blog, not as many photos as usual but I did remember to take a few.

We started the morning with some independent scrapping

accompanied by Lemon Meringue Cupcakes

and Strawberry Ombre Cakes - they didn't work as planned and the layers of colour are not as distinct as I would have liked.

After lunch the fabulously talented Ann taught a two page class.

I am  always in awe at how she can make such fabulous pages from the supplies she has.  She is so creative with her cutting and placing of paper that a little goes a long way.

Cherry chose to cross stitch her page - beautiful

Finally, variations on the theme,

A page from Sandie

A page from Jill

NOTE - the crop in November is the second weekend - 10th and there will not be a class but we are having a kit swap instead.  Here is my kit as a suggestion for what a kit could comprise.

I have included two pieces of double sided paper, some stickers, a piece of cardstock and a journaling card.  I also rummaged around in my stash and found some coordinating pearls, buttons and a doily.  The kit total should be about £5.00.  Please make sure that the items you put into the kit are of a quality you would like to receive yourself.

Looking forward to seeing you next month.

Also don't forget that ATDML has a retreat at Stoke by Nayland Golf Club from 2nd to 4th November and even if you are not coming to the retreat you will always be welcome to pop along and spend your pennies in the shop which should be open from about 3pm Friday to 4:30pm Sunday. Late night shopping on both Friday and Saturday, the lovely Jill only closes the shop to sleep and is back bright and early the following day and she promises you a cup of tea/coffee too!

Marvellous Mini

Well we certainly weren't disappointed this month. Sandie's class was a cracker.
It was a lovely minibook with lots of pages - some small- some bigger, some acetate dividers and much to keep us occupied for the afternoon...
Karen had supplied some lovely cakes as always, this month we had ravishing raspberry and magical mango....they went down a treat with a nice cup of tea.
We did our own projects in the morning and caught up with all the latest goings on.

Then it was time for Sandie's class..

A fun day indeed which went by in a flash- as always.

Sandie's Sensation

Yes there is no other way to describe the beautiful little mini-album that the very talented Sandie is teaching at the crop next Saturday.

She has used an eclectic mix of papers to make an album with a whopping 21 double sided pages!  Kits are limited in number but I am sure that if you aren't lucky enough to get a kit you will be able to still play along using your own stash.

You may have noticed a change of blogger last month. Denise has kindly agreed to take over the post crop blog post and what a fine job she makes of it too.  A huge thank you to Denise and her trusty camera.

Hoping to see you next Saturday

A day to remember

What a lovely day it was at the crop today. It was really nice to see everyone  again and have a morning of chat and doing our own projects.
We had to have a photo of Karen against the very topical Olympic Rings ...

As always she  had been a very busy lady and had made some Key Lime and Coffee and Walnut cupcakes - yummmmm
Then in the afternoon it was Karen's turn to take the class - a beautiful layout using 7Gypsies papers..

It really was a lovely day full of relaxed crafting, banter and giggles, and I can't wait for next month so we can do it all again.

Days to Remember

Well, long time no see!

It is almost time for the next EK crop and here is just a little teaser of the class for Saturday.  It uses the lovely new 7 Gypsies Trousseau range which can be found here .
The title of the page is 'These Are The Days To Remember".

The page needs one 6 x 4 landscape photo.

More photos on Saturday.

Beautiful Butterflies

This month the lovely and very talented Denise Holmes is teaching a technique layout.  She is using Bo Bunny Serinity papers and Prima canvas butterflies which can be coloured with glimmer mist type sprays to the colour you want.  We used them in one of Mel's classes at the ATDML retreat and at the time they reminded me of (now this is showing my age and the younger ones of you may not remember these) the magic painting books we had as children - the ones where you just needed a wet paintbrush and the colours magically appeared.  The butterflies are plain buff cololured canvas but once you spritz them patterns appear as if by magic! There is also a little stamping and flower making so an amazing class by any standards.

The class requires two  4 x 6 portrait photographs and you will need to bring foam pads, sprays if you have them but a limited supply will be available and glossy accents type embossing liquid.

A couple of delicious sneak peeks.

Well, there we have it - a beautiful class that I for one can't wait to take.
